Mixed experience

My family and I had a mixed experience during my mother's 2.5-year stay at Farmington Square Beaverton Assisted Living. The first two years was in their transitional memory care unit, then .5 year in the full memory care unit. Here’s a breakdown of our experience. I always like to start with the good: Care Staff: The care staff at Farmington Square were generally good. They showed genuine care and concern for my mother's well-being. However, there were some employees who appeared to be primarily motivated by their paycheck, which was a bit concerning. I would like to point out some staff members who I believe went above and beyond: [names removed]. Through their actions, they all reinforced my feeling that my mom was being well taken care of. Food: One standout aspect of Farmington Square was the quality of the food. My mother consistently enjoyed the meals, and they were well-prepared with a variety of options and good portions. She was g

Not happy

My mom has been in a memory care building at Farmington square in Gresham since June . My biggest complaint is that she has this heater/air conditioner on the wall that looks like a window unit. It is loud and my mom has dementia so she doesn’t understand that if she turns it off her room will get very cool . No central air in the bedroom if a memory care building ? Really ??? She unplugs it every day beause it’s noisy . She didn’t get bathed for weeks because she thinks she can handle it herself ( she never wants to shower and honestly it’s dangerous for her to shower by herself ) they won’t force her which I understand so I make sure I get her showered at least once a week There is one bathtub in the building and it’s being used for extra clothing storage There’s really no way to wash her hair in the building she lives in I tried to wash her hair in the shower and she cried and was traumatized . I’m beyond frustrated. They don’t fix anything and this is just the beginning

Tour experience

We showed up for our tour and they did not know that we were coming. There were residents outside smoking so we decided to talk with them and ask them how they like living there and they immediately said not to move my mom there. They told us there were not nearly enough staff. The whole facility was under renovation when we went- so when they walked us through everything was torn apart.

I appreciated the sign in process, and that we had to sign in and out and have our temperature taken and recorded. A definite positive these daes. The gentleman who showed us around was kind and answered all our questions. However, the facility looked dark and dreary to me. We were told they were going thru a complete renovation, so hopefully that will spruce things up a bit. I didn't see any residents out and about. The 3 staff members we met along the wae were not particularly friendly. I don't think it's a place mom would do well.

The community did not take care of my dad's cleanliness or wash his sheets on a regular basis. The care he received was subpar and they did not regularly take care of the medical issue he had. I would not recommend this community to others.

Great Location, Lacking in Finess

The welcome staff, administrative staff they were not very friendly to us. I'm not sure what happened with these teams. The receptionist seemed friendly, but you never knew what she would do behind your back. We spoke to the administrator on our way out of the community. I waited for a month-and-a-half for a returns call. After several phone calls, I finally walked into the community to speak to her. The staff was friendly, and the front line employees weren't as friendly as they could be. The food wasn't as good, and the community stated it was because of COVID. The community did have some bar-be-ques for the residents. There was a time where my loved one got lost out in the local communities. My loved one had to stop by a restaurant to find his way back. The manager of this restaurant called Pioneer Village, and the community wasn't willing to take responsibility for my loved. This is because the community kept stating that this resident is in independent living and we don't have any responsibility for this residents.. The food was cold, not as healthy, and didn't included silver wear on the table for the residents.

Nice Friendly Place

I am in a cottage, I have a pull cord alarm if I need help. They have a nice variety of activities and outings and concerts. I am looking forward activities returning. The residents are very nice. I have been very happy here. The food varies. Sometimes when you need something repaired it can take a while.

Farmington Square at Gresham

We felt good going into Farmington initially, but since moving my loved one in, there have been a lot of discrepancies between what we were told would happen and what actually does happen. While the building is brand new and services such as laundry and cleaning are included in the base price, The staff is difficult. They can be unresponsive, sometimes rude, and the food is not appealing at all. Overall, the quality of care here seems low, but we are afraid that moving my loved one elsewhere will do more harm than good.

Not impressed.

My loved one and I toured this community. The staff was pleasant. Otherwise, the community as a whole seemed to be lacking something. We did not see many interactions among residents. The community seemed really closed off. Nothing there made us feel like this would be a good choice. Simply said we were not impressed and kept touring.

Slight lack of privacy.

This is a nice facility. The main concern I had with this facility was the fact that there was very little privacy for residents. My friend also could not receive quite the proper level of care with this facility, if he were to live here.

Some ups and downs...

I wish I could give them 5 stars but there are things they could improve on. There was an incident that just left a very bad taste in our mouth and it is hard to look over. The staff is all friendly and welcoming, but I have noticed that they have a lot of turnover, they are trying to hire new staff and that is not always easy. Also, the food is not as good as other places that we toured. I don't want to sound too negative, they are a good palce but just in need of some improvement. They have a lot of activities available.

Smaller community!!

During my tour of this community I noticed that this was a much smaller facility then most other places I had visited. I did was not to thrilled about this place and nothing really stood out to me that I really liked. I just did not have a good feeling during my visit and decided this was not the right fit for my mother.
