Review of Emerald Gardens, Woodburn OR

I highly recommend Emerald Gardens in Woodburn OR. They offer assisted living and memory care along with respite care. The staff is very caring and are always willing to help my mom. She lives in assisted living and needs some extra attention at times. The caregivers never make her feel guilty or at fault. They always assure her that they are there to help her anytime she needs them. They offer fun things for the residents to do but they make sure they stay distant from each other. They are very diligent about keeping everyone safe from disease. They are always open to helping me take care of my mom since I'm not able to visit with her. They are always patient with my questions and concerns. Please contact them if you have someone you love that needs the extra care they can provide.

Homeless Newbies

On [date removed], as a result of wildfires in southern Oregon, my 78-year-old handicapped husband and I were homeless. Our home and RV were both totally destroyed and we were heartbroken. Hundreds were displaced in our area and there was a dearth of housing units, particularly ones that were handicap accessible. I happened upon a website called "A Place for Mom", and I entered our information. A short while later I received a call from [name removed] who doesn't usually work on Sundays, but saw my request and reached out. Long story short, about two weeks later we were able to move in to Pioneer Village. We love our new home! From [name removed] initial contact with us, to moving in to our lovely apartment, to enjoying everyday life here--the whole experience is wonderful! The residents are friendly and welcoming, and the staff goes out of its way to help us in any way possible. Oh yes, the housekeeping is great and so is the food! God is so good and we thank Him for helping us find Pioneer Village!

The staff at Sweetbriar Villa is very caring and loving. The facility is a good size, 30-40 residents, so everyone knows each other. It is located in a quiet, pretty neighborhood. The cost is comparable to other facilities in Eugene/Springfield.

Home at Sweetbriar Villa

My Mom has lived at Sweetbriar Villa for 8 months. All the staff has been very accommodating and kind to her. They seem to be really good at taking each individual just where they are and doing their best to meet the needs. Dementia is a hard stage in life but they do it so well. I feel I can call or email anytime I have any type of concern and get the results I am looking for. Administrative staff is stellar as well. Sweetbriar has definitely become our Moms "Home" Also at this time in life, food becomes such an important part of the day. The kitchen folks go out of their way to meet requests and prepare interesting, good meals.

Pioneer Village

The virus is not welcome at Pioneer Village in Jacksonville, Oregon! Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor the gloom of COVID can keep us from visiting our Dad there! Visits have moved from indoors to outdoors where the parking lot has taken on a new look. The awesome staff has created safe covered spaces, complete with tables, chairs and ample room for physical distancing. Many of the weekly activities have shifted outside as well for residents, friends and family to enjoy “together”. When it comes to safety and sanitation Pioneer Village is taking great care of their community and families. Things look a bit different for now but spirits are high and we’re all looking forward to a return to normalcy. In the meantime Thank You Pioneer Village for all that you are doing. Place Is NIce

While the place is nice and the staff is friendly as well as personable, the move-in has been a hard adjustment for my spouse. Because of the painting going on my spouse has had to stay in his room secluded for the past couple of days. I hope his experience changes though after the painting is completed. Besides that the facility seems nice and I expect it to be more enjoyable.

Nice tour!!

I have no complaints of how my tour went of this community for my loved one. The staff where on time to our appointment and made sure to answer any questions we had for them in detail. They had a nice floor plan with lots of great amenities available to all of the residents. It was just not the right location in the end decision.

Care for mom

We toured this community for the care for my mom. We wanted something a little more at the time for care. The community was clean with a nice environment for the residents to enjoy. The list on the menu seemed appealing. We liked the activities that are offered. We would recommend this community for the care of a loved one.

Loving care

We had a parent here for two years. Mom went from walking and talking to being unable to do either. In our two years of visiting Mom several times a week, we never once saw anything other than loving care provided to her and to the other residents. They treated Mom with dignity and adapted their care to her needs. I cannot speak highly enough of the wonderful people who worked at this facility. Thank you [Removed]

A nice place

Seems to be a very good choice for our Mother. She is getting excellent care, and I'm not getting the calls of accident or injury that I was from the previous home. The food smelled wonderful! They have various levels of care also, so if she gets worse, they can handle it. The price is lower than most also.

Resident-driven senior living

Food is good with a menu that includes steak, seafood, excellent homemade soups and a great salad bar. Activities are resident-driven, rather than generic. Activities Director is resourceful and creative (e.g., cooking classes, facials, surprise outings, story time, etc.). Staff and residents are welcoming and friendly. Well-established residents proactively interact with new ones, making you feel immediately at home. Any issues are worked out quickly once communicated.

Everything is Good

Pioneer Village is good. My mom is there and my sister lives close by so she is able to visit more but my wife and I just went up there about a month ago and spent some time. Everything was good. We sat at the table and ate with mom and the food was good and everybody was interacting. There are activities. We’re working on getting mom more involved in those. I know they have exercise classes, movie night, and they just did a big luau thing at the end of September and I know my mother was at that.

Serious Possibility if the time comes

She may someday need to be in a place where she can't leave the building; when we were in Portland last, I toured it and she also has a friend that she was good friends with that lives there, so if the time comes this may be the place. I really liked it, I had visited with the children of mom's friends and I asked them how they liked it and they felt that different levels of memory loss has so many different gradations they liked that no one was thrown into one big room with people who are all at different stages and I liked that too. It seems like the activities and outings of all the places I looked at are very similar, I looked at the rooms and grounds and they were very clean and tidy and I appreciated that. I think the rooms I saw were a little smaller than the ones at Wynwood but they said that some residents, with where they were at in their dementia, still wanted a roommate even in the smaller rooms.

Nice Dining and Apartments

It's fantasitic. We looked at a couple of places and found Bozeman Lodge to be the best. I like the apartment, the staff, the facility itself and the way they set up their dining. People can eat anytime from 7am to 7pm and they have a variety of entrees. The thing that I really noticed was the personal empowerment which is really important. I think because it was designed to be a retirement community and then they had both retirement and assisted, it looks more like apartment living that assisted living. They're really wonderful. The value was the best of all of them. It looks like a person's nice home. There is a lot of life to it. I highly recommend it. My aunt had an easy transition because of all the fine quality there.

What has impressed me most is the friendliness of all the staff. Everyone seems to truly take an interest in my mom. What's more, they really assist my mom with her needs.
