Parkway senior living has its pros and cons. Pros: the food is good. They keep the place clean. Most of the time, they have enough staff to care for the residents. The majority of the caretakers are attentive and seem to really care for the residents. Cons: They do not do a good job with laundry and have ruined clothes. Sometimes at nights and on weekends and holidays, they do not seem to have enough caretakers to take care of residents You can go into the facility and cannot find anyone or often the nurse in in another section taking care of different residents. The communication is not good betweent the staff from shift to shift and sometimes with the administrators.

I find communication lacking for family in long distance situations

So far, so good. The price is fair, my dad has a smoking room & he stays involved. They could have a better intercom system to let them know when things are going on but aside from that, I'd say all good.

I was very pleased with my tour of this community. There was lots of great amenities available and had was a lot smaller of a facility then some of the other ones I had looked at. I also was impressed with the administration and how willing they where to work with my mother and I on the financial end and find something that works for us. The only thing my mom did not like was it was a completely none smoking complex.

We liked the tour that we went on. The staff was very good and explained everything to us. They showed us around and we got to see some of the residents out and about. It just was not a good fit for mom.

Friendly experIenced staff always, helpful always available

After researching many places I decided to place my Dad here. It is a very nice place and the staff were all very nice. They have both assisted living and dementia/alzheimers. The only thing I was unhappy with is they charge a 1 time "community fee" of $1000.00 which is non-refundable. My dad died after just a week being there. So I was out the $1000.

I love living in this closely knitted community

I recommend University Living as a place for your parents if they need care giving. My mother was challenging at times and the staff was always kind, caring and helpful. I am very blessed to have found a place where my parents could be together during their last weeks. They went above and beyond with my mother during her critical time, and always attended to my father's needs and well being.

The staff is really friendly here. The personal rooms could use a little more attention. The food is not good for me at all, sometimes it's not worth my trip, they are great on desserts. I think they need a new cook. The activities aren't interesting to me, I have always been around younger people. We liked the room because it has an outside entrance. Their dryer makes my clothes wrinkle more than I would like and now I have to iron.

I was overall pleased with this community. The food was good when we first went, but it became progressively worse over the months. The centralized location in Fremont is ideal for medical, groceries, shopping, etc. I would highly recommend this community. My only real complaint is the food.

I looks like it will be a great facility, but they are not quite there yet. There was a lot of water damage when we went, and seems to be a work in progress. They had an apartment with a bedroom with a study. Thinking back those turns would be a little difficult to maneuver in a wheelchair.

The people are wonderful! The place is beautiful and the meals are excellent with plenty of choices. The apartments are small but large enough for one and have full kitchens which aren't really necessary... they could be downgraded to kitchenettes and give more living space. My only regret is they don't have quit enough care services for my mother to qualify for VA Widows pension, which would have made it within her price range. The apartment and weekly cleaning are worth $750. But the rest of the amenities including meals are not worth $1200.

I liked the people there, I had a problem with the two levels and dealing with the elevators. I didn't see their actual memory care but I was looking at their transition piece

Interaction with the medical staff on behalf of our mom was about a 6 or 7 out of 10 at times.

Mainly because a new building with kinks that took awhile to work out. The size of my one bedroom apt is good, though some quirks in design of kitchen I would have changed. The residence are lovely and we have a cozy down to earth community. Personnel good though keeping kitchen help has been an issue, but that's more an arrow management problem. It's attractive and clean.

Care was ok, he was happy there but they nickel and dimed us on everything. They kept raising prices for care even though hospice was taking care of most everything. We moved him, and monthly costs were less than half what we were paying at Fremont.

I'm waiting on availability for a private memory care closer to home and I will move my mom. House keeping isn't great unless you complain for several weeks. Most of the staff are nice. when they can keep staff a handful are good the rest are just there to collect a check. Way Over priced

Not to paint with a broad brush but every single one of these facilities that is within your price range is a nightmare. If you can’t afford $[fee removed]k per month then you are in for a rude awakening. Carriage court is no different even though we pay a lot of money for my father-in-law to stay here. Pros - seemingly a lot of staff, stays fairly clean and doesn’t have the pervasive urine smell like other places, dining options have good rotation, rooms are decent/expected, nice location, residents seem happy and cordial with each other, and front desk staff are always present/available. Cons - director is IMPOSSIBLE to reach. [name removed] makes herself scarce at all costs. At times won’t even walk 10 feet out of her office to speak with you. The actual patient care staff are not good. They have left my FIL in his room to miss meals more times than I can count. They allowed him to fall in the shower despite being 3 ft away. They do not come when alerted. Low expectations are a must here.

They have a big turnover of staff. Some not so friendly or helpful. Cleanliness of room was only fair. Pricing misleading at first. So many things not included as we were led to believe Big turnover of staff. These residents need consistency and faces they grow to depend on Most staff friendly
