The cleanliness of the community is great, and the staff members are great. The meals can stand to have a little improvement, but i am very well satisfied with the activities they are offering. I do think the value for cost is fair. I think The Gardens is great, if you are able you have your freedoms, I have a car so i am able to get anywhere anytime i want

I really liked it here. I think they were very friendly. It's a nice big facility. Initially it was my first choice, but we toured thinking our loved one would be in assisted living. We ended up realizing she needed memory care instead, and we chose a place that was a little closer to us.

The food is amazing and they have a great variety. The team that helps with the transition was amazing. We couldn't be there during covid and they helped my loved one get used to the community. The staff is amazing and the community is clean and neat. my loved one has made a great group of friends. I would recommend this community to others based on my experience.

We chose Vitalia Rockside because it was newer and it offered more discounts at the time we were looking. The room sizes here are pretty good. It is hard for them to keep staff members and the turnover rate is pretty high. Overall it has been a good experience and I would recommend them.

At the time, we thought our loved one would be in independent living. But things changed very quickly with his health shortly after. Our tour was good, and our loved one liked it there very much. It was a great location, with great outside space on the independent living side. Each resident would have their own little cottages as opposed to an apartment in the main building. He could have easily walked across the street to the store or to a restaurant.

We absolutely loved Wildwood, they were just so accommodating. My mom came in with independent living then moved to assisted about a week after and then passed away shortly after that. They moved all of her stuff and set up her room, they were great with everything that we needed done here. Whenever I need a place to go, I will be going here. It is a beautiful place and the staff are very friendly and the food is also amazing. I would highly recommend to others looking and already have. Everything they could do to make my mom happy they did.

We toured Vitalia and it is a beautiful facility. It is bigger, so there would be a lot of walking to do. It is best suited for someone who is more ambulatory.

If your loved one is independent I think this community would be great. The only issue we have is there is no storm shelter in the community. Communication is really good and they have a quick response time. I would recommend this community based on our experience.

We toured Journey and it is a very high quality place. The meals are all chef prepared and you can order food at anytime of the day so they are not served cafeteria style. They did not have any openings when we needed but I would highly recommend them.

We toured during Covid, so it was an outside tour. We were able to look through the window but were not able to go inside. They were very cordial about coming outside, and they walked the grounds with us and sat with us. This was our #2 choice. We would have gone here if it didn't work out at our first choice. I liked the security of the place. The only thing they couldn’t resolve was they would have required my loved one to wear an ankle bracelet with his reputation for hanging around doors and wandering off the grounds. But the person we spoke to is still in contact with me. She calls to see how my loved one is doing. She’s great.

We did both a virtual and a regular tour and this community is wonderful. The sales director is amazing. We just need a place closer to our family.

Overall, it's a nice community. If you're looking for assisted living, it's definitely not the route to go since it's a retirement community. If the residents get hurt in any way, they're on their own. The staff won't touch them. But other than that, it's a pretty nice place. The staff do a good job of engaging with the residents, and encourage them to participate in activities, that type of thing.

We chose Montvale Estates because of the availability at the time and we liked the ground floor exterior, it was walking distance to the other facility. The apartment sizes here were very nice. Overall I would recommend to others looking.

It was a great experience, it was a short stay but everyone was so thoughtful and very patient. The community is very clean, the staff members and residents were just so nice. Our loved one was a picky eater but overall the food was good and it was just a super experience.

Our loved one says the food is good most of the time, and we do know they offer activities for the residents, however our loved one just does not really participate in them. We chose this facility because we knew people who lived there before and the location was convenient for us and our family.

I think it's a very nice, accommodating facility. They had good, supportive rehab staff. The head administrator was really nice. I really liked her. She bent over backwards to help us meet my loved ones needs at the time. We were there for respite care, so they provided a furnished room, and it was very nice. It was much nicer than other facilities I looked at in the area. Their therapies were excellent and lived up to their good reputation. Vitalia contracts with a company called Fox Rehab, and they have therapists that are allocated specifically for Vitalia. That's the main reason we went there. My loved one had some quirky eating preferences at the time, and all she would eat was grilled cheese. I appreciated that at a time when she just wanted to be home but couldn't be, that they made her a grilled cheese every day. There was a patio off her room, and especially because of Covid restrictions, she loved to go out and sit. And then we could visit her on her patio, which was really nice.

We chose Journey Senior Living of Ankeny because when she was in the hospital, they were not allowed to go back home due to health concerns. They were able to take her right away. They also helped us out with a price and really worked with us to make sure they could take her. Once we got in here, the staff members really bent over backwards for us. They are excellent with communication, we get special ones from the memory care wing that keep us informed. One of the things we have come to appreciate is that they are not a large facility and I think she is getting more personal care here. I would recommend to others looking.

I would tell others to check this community out. This is a good community that is organized. I wish the communication about the pandemic within the community could be better with families..

I feel the community is safe and they are doing a great job during the pandemic. The staff is very friendly and caring. I would recommend this community to others. The community has a homey feel to it.

In budget, very independent but also lots of saftey features and has many care options. Super helpful staff, great location. Mostly everything included. Had a great feel and all amenities that grandma asked for.
